Faculty Story

Nicholas Eng

“I like doing work around mental well-being, climate change, corporate social advocacy or any sort of research focused on prosocial health and environmental outcomes. Since I was really young, I have been very passionate about doing things that can have a positive impact on the world. Through research like this, I have the opportunity to do that.”

Alumni Story

Casey Bruce-White

Being a student in Grady College was one of the best experiences of my life. I remember the day I found out I was being admitted to the school. It was a day filled with joy and acknowledgment of a lot of hard work I had put in after experiencing some struggles to adjust to college life and academia during my freshman year.

“The biggest piece of advice I can offer is this: NETWORKING is everything. Take advantage of all the networking opportunities Grady provides. From panels and “Ask Me Anything” events to workshops, make it a priority to attend as many of these as you can. Connect with alumni, learn from their experiences and make an effort to stay in touch.”

Student Story

Felix Scheyer

When I first came to the University of Georgia, there was no other option for me other than journalism. I knew that this major would give me everything I needed to spend my life telling stories while forging my own. During my time in undergrad, I have traveled the world in pursuit of these stories. From Paris, Prague, Minneapolis, Kentucky and the Classic City herself, my journalism major has taken me to places I never knew I wanted to be. Through this major, I have learned so much about myself, not only as a journalist and storyteller, but as a person.

Student Story

Eniola Badejo

“My CURO experience has been one of the most transformative parts of my time at UGA. I entered the world of qualitative research with no prior experience, but under the guidance of a thoughtful and supportive mentor, I’ve grown tremendously. Beyond the technical skills I’ve gained, what I value most is the genuine mentorship I’ve received — having someone who not only teaches me research but also looks out for me as a person. That kind of support means the world, and I’ll carry it with me long after my time in CURO ends.”
